Food & Housing Assistance

Energy Assistance Program

The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) helps provide eligible families with a one-time benefit to their heating and electric companies to offset the high cost of utility bills during the winter months.

Benton Community Co-Op

The Co-Op allows adults to use their talents and abilities to provide for their families, choose what products their family needs, and helps members connect and build relationships.

Family Support

WIC

WIC is a special supplemental food program that provides nutrition support, breastfeeding support, and referrals to other agencies.

Division of Family Resources

DFR responsible for establishing eligibility for Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits. The division also manages the timely and accurate delivery of SNAP and TANF benefits.

Head Start/Early Head Start

Head Start is a child and family development program for income-eligible preschoolers and their families. Children receive a high-quality early education opportunity through participation in either center-based preschool or home-based option.

YWCA Violence Protection & Prevention

Through case advocacy, support groups, legal advocacy, and emergency shelter, YWCA Greater Lafayette is on a mission to support and empower survivors of violence.

Benton County Health Department

The BCHD is responsible for providing services that are essential in promoting and protecting the health of our community. Some of these services include: preventative and primary healthcare, immunizations, testing, epidemiology/communicable disease control & surveillance, emergency preparedness, environmental health regulation, food safety services, vital records, permits & licensing, training and education, community outreach, and many others.

Valley Oaks Health

Valley Oaks Health provides comprehensive, high-quality mental health, addiction recovery, and primary medical care services to the citizens of ten central Indiana counties.

Warren County REMC

REMC is a member-owned cooperative that supplies electric power to members in portions of Benton, Tippecanoe, Vermillion, Warren and White counties in West Central Indiana.

Benton County Transportation

Area IV Transit provides demand response, curb-to-curb, and advance reservation transportation service within Benton County.  Door-to-door service is also available upon request for those needing reasonable assistance beyond the curb.
